Cryotherapy (incl. GP consultation)€100What is cryotherapy and how does it work? A quick freezing treatment that removes warts, skin tags and certain other harmless skin growths by destroying the tissue with intense cold. What happens during the appointment? The area is frozen for a few seconds. You will feel coldness and some tingling; most people feel little or no pain, and it is over quickly. What should I expect afterwards? The spot turns white, then reddens within seconds. Over the following days it may blister, change colour or form a scab. Keep it clean — you can shower and swim, and a dressing is usually not needed. Do not pick scabs or deliberately burst any blister; if a blister breaks, dab on antiseptic and cover it. The skin may look lighter or darker for a time, with normal colour usually returning within about two weeks to six months as it heals. Will I need more than one treatment? Sometimes. Depending on the size, type and site of the lesion, a second or third session about two weeks apart may be needed. Warts on the sole of the foot are the most stubborn and may also need a daily over-the-counter wart treatment. | |
